Boston Harbor is one of the attributes of South Boston that makes it so desirable. You can live in South Boston and walk to downtown Boston and to the beach. Along with this beautiful attraction you have the HarborWalk which itself runs along the entire border of South Boston.

The HarborWalk will begin in East Boston and come into South Boston at the Seaport area. You will walk along the Fan Pier and Fort Channel areas where commercial fisherman can be seen bringing in their catch. Marine Park is along the walk and the Black Falcon Cruise Terminal with seasonal cruises. Then you come across Fort Independence and Castle Island, the Sugar Bowl Bakery, and Pleasure Island beach area.

Sullivan's take out stand is the only concession along the entire walk in Southie.

Then you walk to Carson Beach which winds up in Dorchester with clear views of the Kennedy Library. The backdrop of Dorchester Heights and city views make this a treasure in this town.
